George Wang, violin

George Wang is 10 years old, a 4th grader at Skinner North Classical School. He is a Merit Scholarship recipient at the Music Institute of Chicago where he studies with Davis King.
George started to play the violin when he was two years old. He has won top prizes in competitions including the Sejong Music Competition, Society of American Musicians Competition, IMA Annual Violin Bach competition and the Music Festival in Honor of
Confucius. He is the Junior affiliate artist at the Guarneri Hall. He also likes to play violin duets with his sister Xiruo Wang.
He enjoys reading, math, solving Rubik’s cubes, chess, bicycling and swimming.
